A while ago I was bored and decided to see how many energy drinks I could drink in a row without die-ing. The six we had in the fridge went down easy and I’m not dead. But what did it do? It’s hard to remember, nothing was written down or recorded at all, but it definitely wasn’t a waste of time.
So now that Lori is starting her job, and we’ll have two sources of income, I’ll be able to re-attempt this experiment. But this time properly. For starters, I’ll be documenting the whole thing, emotions, tweaks, bathroom breaks. It’s going to be fun!
There needs to be rules to how I go about this. The day before there will be no sugar or caffeine, and no other form of sugar or caffeine that day except for what comes in the energy drink. Since I’ve done six before without reprocussion, I would assume that my body can take that many, and I should shoot higher. Two an hour seems to be a good goal. The point is to see what happens. The cans usually say no more than 2 a day.
And after the energy drink experiment, it’s the coffee experiment. The week after I’ll try in the same manner the experiment, but with coffee replacing the energy drinks. I’ll have to do the math on the caffeine amount in the coffee, but it should mimic the same amount as in the energy drinks. The energy drinks have a slew of other vitamins and minerals and who knows what else in ‘em, so the results should be different. I usually drink alot of coffee anyways, somewhere between four and seven cups on an average day, and there is a different rush that goes along with it.
Lori thinks I’m going to die. I don’t think I’m going to die. We’ll see. Give me three or four weeks to get this all straight and then, game on!
